Dear valued clients, colleagues and friends,
As you are no doubt aware, Governor Sununu issued Emergency Order #17 on March 26th ordering a closure of all non-essential businesses and requiring Granite Staters to stay at home. A copy of the order and accompanying exhibit may be found here - part 1
and part 2
. The Governor' Order #17 includes a list of "Essential Services" and this list includes "Professional services (such as legal and accounting services) and payroll and employee benefit services, when necessary to assist in compliance with legally mandated activities and critical sector services or where failure to provide such services during the time of the order would result in significant prejudice."
Consistent with the Governor's order, our offices will remain open on a limited basis solely for purposes of assisting clients to comply with legally mandated activities and critical sector services, and providing services that would result in significant prejudice if they could not be performed due to the stay at home order. We interpret this to include estate planning services, advising business clients of the impacts of emergent legislation and regulations, complying with USPTO deadlines with regard to patents and trademarks, complying with court ordered deadlines in civil litigation matters, and advising family law clients on an emergency basis. This list is exemplary and we urge clients to contact us as questions and issues arise and, if we are able to provide services consistent with the Governor's order, we will do so.
The majority of our attorneys and staff will be working remotely and we will be available by appointment only
. Clients are urged to contact us via phone or email to discuss emergent issues. If it is absolutely necessary to schedule an in-person appointment for purposes of signing legal documents, we have implemented procedures to minimize the risk of infection to our clients, attorneys, staff and their families, and we will advise you of these procedures before your appointment.
We hope and pray that you remain healthy and safe during this extraordinary time and look forward to resuming normal operations as soon as possible.
